A Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy should be developed and approved by club management. Once approved, it should be prominently displayed both in the club house and on the club website, and communicated effectively and in an appropriate format to everyone it relates to – children, their parents, volunteers working with children, staff, coaches and committee members.
The policy should be reviewed regularly and whenever there are significant legal developments (at least every three years).
Make sure that:
- All those involved are aware of the policy.
- There is clear communication of the link between club policies and Safeguarding Children in Golf guidance
- All those involved understand their responsibilities concerning the safety and welfare of children.
