Workshop details:

The PGA, English Golf Union, English Women’s Golf Association and Golf Foundation are part of the Children in Golf Strategy Group that has been formed to help golf address the issue of child protection. It is essential that those working at the "sharp end" of golf delivery for young people are informed about child protection issues and how it effects the way they work.

The Children in Golf group has worked with SportsCoachUK to offer the Safeguarding and Protecting Children Workshops to those involved with junior golf. It is universally recognised within sport and local authorities as an appropriate form of training for sports coaches and volunteers. (PGA professionals receive 25 CPD points for attendance)

All are welcome to attend. The workshop is aimed at Golf Professionals, Junior Organisers, Girls’ Junior Organisers, Volunteers and Club Secretary/Managers. The course has been subsidised by EGU/EWGA and will be offered for £20 per person (normally £25). There are a maximum of 25 places per workshop so please reply early, as places are allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.

At the workshop, attendees will:

  • Discuss what constitutes good or poor practice
  • Discuss a range of child protection issues and scenarios
  • Be given information on how to respond to an incident or allegation
  • Receive a copy of the Guidelines & certificate of attendance

NB: You will not receive confirmation of acceptance on the course- you will be contacted if you have NOT been successful

To sign up for this workshop please call or email Karen on 0121 452 5975
